British Motorcar Day - May 13, 2006
"New Venue" Berry College

Starting the show off clouds and a light burst of a shower that stopped as quick as it started it turned out to be a great day for a car show.

This year the annual British Motorcar Day was at a new venue, Berry College. The college is located 65 miles North of Atlanta, GA and 65 miles South of Chattanooga, TN. The college was founded in 1902, a 28,000 acre campus. The campus is one of the world's largest with fields, forests, lakes and mountains provide scenic beauty in a protected natural setting. Now imagine 400 British cars placed in such a beautiful setting.

The show was a great success. I really think this venue offered more to the show. For on, the cars were spread out more making it much easier to enjoy all of them. There were more vendors as well. And to add a special touch for awards, there was an added award, "Deans Choice Award". I think most agreed that this venue was worth the extra drive for some. And hope to have many future cars shows at Berry College.

Chateau Élan British Motorcar Days
1985 - 2005

Chateau Élan Winery & Resort is settled in the foothills 40 miles North of Atlanta. It occupies 3,500 acres, including a 4 diamond 4 star luxury resort. Within the resort contains 2 restaurants, art gallery, wine market, wine tasting and tours, as well as golfing and luxury spas.

Chateau Élan is a 16th century style French chateau that opened in 1985. And is the largest producer of premium wines in Georgia.

It has also been the venue of the British Motorcar Day from 1985 to 2005. In rememberance of the past British Motorcar Day shows, it has been fun to say the least. This grand chateau with over 500 different British cars spreading over the beautiful rolling lawns was a sight never to be forgotten. Not only MG's, but Jaguars, Truimphs, Austin Healeys, Sprites, Minis, Land Rovers, Lotus, Rolls Bentleys, if it was British, it was there. And I am happy to have been a part of it from 1995 to 2005.
